Top 12 teams Go Green in the City 2014

Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management, unveiled the 12 teams that qualified for the finals of Go Green in the City 2014 global student challenge organized by the Group. The finalists were selected from among the Top 100 teams that qualified for the semi-finals, by a jury composed of Schneider Electric business leaders.

As in previous years, Go Green in the City candidates must present a case study focusing on energy solutions for cities. Working in teams of two, with at least one woman onthe team, students will devise viable solutions for energy management sectors critical to cities, such as: home, university, retail, water and hospital.

The Top 12 teams, coming from Brazil, Canada, China-Hong Kong, Egypt,France, India, Japan, New Zealand, Russian Federation, Turkey, United States and Vietnam, were evaluated, on the basis of a synopsis and a video business case. The criteria for this evaluationincludethe holistic overview of the problem, the innovation of the idea, the economic impact of developing and using thesuggested solution and it’s efficiency of usage for all key stakeholders.

The 12 teams havebeen invited to Schneider Electric’s headquarters in Rueil-Malmaison, France, from June 17th to 21stto compete in the finals.During the trip, the finalists will visit facilities of the Group, network with Schneider Electric employees andattend career-building workshops. The students will also have the opportunity to have a visit of “La Cité du Soleil”, an energy-efficient village built for the Solar Decathlon , a student competition in Versailles (France) to be held from June 28thto July 14thand sponsored by Schneider Electric.The teamswill continue to work with their Schneider Electric mentor to finalize their case study, which they will present on June 19th to a jury composed of Schneider Electric senior management.

The winning teamof Go Green in the City 2014will travel the world VIP-style with Schneider Electric, visiting facilities and networking with employees and senior management. The two laureates will also be offered a professional opportunity with Schneider Electric.
